Benz wanted us to submit photos of us at work, and several good friends
sent me this photo from Gerri Arenas' wedding. I was about ten pounds
(!) lighter then.

I call this one "Hard at Work". Hehehe
The shoot was surreal. I came huffing and puffing at Imacron's as I
rushed after office from faraway Pasay to Quezon City. The shoot started
at 2 pm and I got there exactly 2 hours past the call time. Good thing I
was able to advice them earlier, as I was the last to get to Imacron's.
Being the last to arrive has its downside: one, you believe everyone's
already done with their recordings and so you hastily do your own; two,
you get to pose in front of a larger live audience along busy Kamuning
road with pedestrians gawking at you with every pose you strike; and
lastly, you realize that you aren't the last to do all these things and
several suppliers are, in fact, doing their recordings after yours. Tsk
tsk.
Nevertheless, I had a magnificent time with the group. Tasty mamon,
incessant chatter and camaraderie on a blotchy Wednesday afternoon -
truly unforgettable! Can hardly wait to do it again!
W@W!
Gosh, this month is definitely full of surprises.
Ed and I spent the long weekend in HK for much needed r and r, which we
still didn’t get since we trekked all around Hong Kong day in and day
out. Well worth the aching feet, swelling ankles and the gaping hole in
our wallets.
Pictures and story to follow.
Approximately three days after, I went to the shoot of W@W’s top 10
Suppliers of the Year. Wow. I am hardly ever at a loss for words, but I
must say that when I got Benz’s text message in the wee hours of the
morning telling me I made it to the top 10, I was as silent as a mime.
All I can do was wave my arms and mumble incoherently while Ed prepared
the materials for my exorcism. He only stopped sprinkling me with water
when he heard Clarice (Avinante, An Event to Remember) shrieking on my
mobile about it.
‘Tis indeed an incredible honor to be ranked among the other 10
immensely talented suppliers. Kudos to everyone for making it! To all my
beloved grooms and brides, all this I give back to you. I am here
because of you, and I sincerely pray that you are happy with what I
offer. I am in gratitude forever. Thanks sooooo much!:-)
Beautiful Weddings!
Ed and I went to the launch of Wedding Essentials Beautiful Weddings
2007 last 10 October at St. Francis Showroom. We were reluctant at first
since we really aren’t the celebrity type, but the driving urge to see
how other people find our story made me brave the MRT at rush hour to
make it on time for the launch. Ed got lucky - he brought Junjun, our
6-month old Suzuki Alto to his office and since it’s just a block away
from JMT, he came to the showroom whistling. That is in stark contrast
to my profuse sweating as I elbowed my way out at Shaw station. It’s a
jungle out there, promise *shiver*
Anyhow, I got there in a nick of time. Ed and I had cocktails with
Paulette (Dimaano, Demoiselle Events) and Tita Celia (Cunanan, The
Social Connection). Other newlyweds also featured in the zine were
milling around suppliers and the cocktail tables right before donning
wigs and having cute photos taken over by the entrance.
The launch was short and sweet, so fast it was done even before my mom
got there. Good thing good food and friends came in abundance. We
checked out our complimentary copy and marveled at our article.
One word: BEAUTIFUL. I’ve got to say, I never thought I’d look this good
on glossies.
Ed ended lugging 5 copies of the mag all the way back to the parking
lot. I got a copy for my sister, my mother, my mother-in-law, my dad and
of course, us. Hahahaha! I couldn’t help myself, sue me. It’s not
everyday that I wholeheartedly appreciate my marriage; I believe a small
reminder would do me good.
Finally!
After being stuck in the middle age for centuries, I have emerged from
my stupor with a brand-spankin’ blog courtesy of my genius friend, the
beautiful Morning Madrid. She’s the brains behind my lovely logo too,
would you believe?! Talk about talent! Cheers, dahling!
